The Lamb appears and takes a seven-sealed scroll from the hand of the Father. All of creation worships Him. Now He begins to open the seals and judgments begin to fall upon the earth. This is the first of three series of judgments in Revelation. The first four are the infamous Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Longfellow translated the words of a German poet (Friedrich von Logau) like this:
“Though the mills of God grind slowly, yet they grind exceeding small; Though with patience stands He waiting, with exactness grinds He all.”
The point is that God’s judgment, though it may not come quickly by our standards, is certain and very exact.

History has seen its share of predictions regarding the end of the world. Just in recent memory we’ve had a failed prediction of the Rapture (or two) and a cancelled Mayan Apocalypse. Can we really blame people for becoming skeptical? Still, the Bible does actually – and repeatedly – predict the return of Jesus Christ.
