Read Thru the Bible

Beginning January 1, 2014, we started to sync our Sunday messages to a chapter a day Bible reading plan.  The whole process will take a few years, but here is the plan we are using.  The highlighted dates are the Sundays.

Here are two methods for reading through the Scriptures Cover-to-Cover.   I also recommend listening to the Bible while in your car, exercising, etc.  At the bottom is a link to the Bible I use for listening/study purposes. Finally, if you check out the links to the right labeled Audio & Online Bibles, you might find something else that intrigues you.

1. Bible Reading Chapter Checklist

This is a simple chapter checklist for reading through the Bible.  It doesn’t include any kind of a plan for reading, just a list of all the chapters in all the books.  You can go at your own pace, read the books in any order you want, and check off the chapters as you read them.

I fits on one 8 1/2 x 11 sheet folded in half, so it conveniently fits in the pages of an average-sized Bible.

Since “.pdf” files can be difficult for many people to modify, please feel free to download the “.docx” format file and customize it for your own church if you like.

2. One Year Reading Plan

This plan will get you through the Bible cover-to-cover in one year, which can be a life-transforming experience as you abide in God’s Word and His Word abides in you.

Try it for a month or two, and then maybe a year or two, to see what happens.

Happy reading!
