Palmer St. Podcast: Necessary Reminders

Longfellow translated the words of a German poet (Friedrich von Logau) like this:

“Though the mills of God grind slowly, yet they grind exceeding small; Though with patience stands He waiting, with exactness grinds He all.”

The point is that God’s judgment, though it may not come quickly by our standards, is certain and very exact.

Objections to Christianity

If you have Objections to Christianity and are willing to help me with a brief paper, here is a very simple survey for you to complete and give back to me.  The data will be used anonymously and you will only be contacted by me for further discussion if you wish.  If you don’t have any objections yourself, but know someone who does and might want to submit them, feel free to pass this on.

I’d like to have the information back by the end of May 2013.  The paper will be ready by July 10 and I’d be happy to give you a copy if you wish.

Thanks!!!!

Palmer St. Podcast: Who Owns You?

The most common view of morality in our culture is probably the one that says we can do whatever we like as long as we don’t hurt anyone else.  This is, of course, accurate as far as it goes.  If you are going to engage in some kind of destructive behavior, the rest of us would be happiest if you only harm yourself.  But is that the whole story?

Palmer St. Podcast: Fellow Workers for the Truth

We might imagine we have to be very special people to be used in some significant way by the Almighty. If we think so we are mistaken. In this very personal letter we know as 3 John, the elderly apostle reveals that it is a very simple thing to become a fellow worker for the truth.

(And by the way, at the end there is a song performed by two Amish sisters from Northern Indiana who have lately been attending Horizon Central while in Indianapolis.  That alone is worth a listen.)
