Ezekiel prophesies against Jerusalem using the picture of charred and useless vine wood to illustrate the current state of the city. Jesus declares himself to be the true vine, telling us we need to abide in him.
Our own desires tell us that we were made for something bigger and better than this world. God invites us to fulfill those desires in Him.
God is going to reveal his strength – his strong arm – in an unbelievable way. What does the powerful arm of God look like? It looks like Jesus – humiliated, rejected and beaten, and then dying on a cross.
