Jesus gives us a number of lessons in this chapter. We need to be careful, be forgiving full of faith. He tells us to be servants, be thankful and to be ready for his return.

How much confidence do we place in wealth or possessions? Their real value is how we use them to prepare for heaven. In fact, as we consider the life that is to come, suffering may be worth more than money.
In response to some grumbling by the Pharisees and scribes, Jesus gives three parables. They are that of the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin and the Lost (or Prodigal) Son.

This chapter starts with a miraculous healing. Jesus then teaches us about following him. His invitation is open to all, but those who accept it must be willing to place put Jesus before everyone or everything else and even their very lives.
