As we go through these Songs of Ascent, we can imagine the pilgrims gathering in Jerusalem for worship. Our lives too are a pilgrimage, full of trust and worship with reminders of the Lord’s faithfulness and grace.
Jesus leads us to a place that is beyond our reach. He is the Rock that is higher than us and far more solid and stable than we can ever be.
This psalm begins with David crying out to God in the midst of trouble. It ends with an expression of confident faith.
David realizes that he needs God to cleanse him if he is ever going to be clean.
