In the Old Testament specific people were given specific ministries and were filled with the Holy Spirit at specific times in order to carry them out. Joel expected all of that to change.
To say the least, Hosea has an unhealthy marriage. Israel has an unhealthy relationship with God. The book also provides a background against which we can examine our own faith.
