Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, whose name means “King’s Servant” comes to the aid of Jeremiah and sets an example for us to follow.

Jeremiah prophesied against a nation that had broken their covenant with God. He foretells a time when God would replace that covenant with a new one. The New Covenant is based upon the shed blood of Christ.

God had a word for those who were now in Babylon. As it happens it is especially relevant to Christians in our place and time.
